Ellie Kemper is an American actress, comedian, and writer. Ellie Kemper was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on May 2nd 1980, the second of four children born to Dorothy Ann (Jannarone) and David Wood Kemper. She is the older sister of television writer Carrie Kemper.
She went to John Burroughs School in St. Louis where former alumnus Jon Hamm was her drama teacher. Later she was enrolled in Conway Elementary School. Kemper graduated from Princeton University in English and went to University of Oxford for further studies. She used to play field hockey at Princeton and later went o to play national hockey championship in her freshmen year.
She is currently 37 years old.
She continued to pursue her main interest when she attended Princeton, which led her to join various comedy groups such as Quipfire and the Princeton Triangle Club.
She made her debut in 2006 in a Television series ‘Sexual Intercourse: American Style’ in the role as Cindy. She’s best known for her role ‘The office’ and Bridesmaids. She regularly appeared in comedy sketches on Late Night with Conan O’Brien in the late 2000s, and has made guest appearances on Important Things with Demetri Martin. Kemper writes for the national satirical newspaper ‘The Onion’. She along with her family moved to New York City and participated in Peoples Imrov Theater. In 2007, she appeared in How to Kick People, a performance combining comedy and literary performances. Her role in ‘The office’ was well appreciated. She has been married to Michael Koman since July 7, 2012.
